Kaimosi Vert Hotel seeks the services of a qualified person to occupy the position of Front Desk Cashier. Terms of service will be one-year contract.
Job Purpose
The Front Desk Cashier is expected to collect money from guests for all services offered including meals, drinks, accommodation and conference facilities. S/he is also expected to manage all cash revenues as pertains to the restaurant, bar and accommodation facilities. The position holder is also required to welcome guests, check guests in and out of the hotel, handle with guest queries, provide prompt and professional guest service to meet guest needs and ensure guest satisfaction. S/he shall be required to maintain related records and files regarding financial transactions that take place at the front desk.
Reporting Relationship
Reports to the Manager of Kaimosi Vert Hotel.
Responsibilities
a) Welcome guests and provide excellent customer service.
b) Checking guests in and out by ensuring due registration of guests; collecting necessary information (like ID Number, contact details, exact duration of stay).
c) Ensure the front desk is neat, presentable, and equipped with all the necessary supplies such as pens, forms, and paper.
d) Answer all client enquiries/questions and incoming phone calls.
e) Collect the restaurant and accommodation cash sales and issue receipts
f) responsible for preparing and submitting daily schedules of cash receipts and bank deposits
g) Clarify customers questions or concerns about the charges on their bills
h) Protect valuable possessions of guests and guarantee the security of the contents.
i) Check and follow up on all bills on hold to ensure timely payment
j) Perform basic accounting and book-keeping duties
k) Any other relevant duties assigned by the Manager
Qualifications and Skills
- KCSE with at least grade C- (minus)
- At least a Certificate in any of the following fields; Hospitality management or Accounting or Public Relations or Marketing
- Strong knowledge and competency in Micro-Soft Office programmes
- Should have good mathematical skills and be able to work efficiently without supervision
- Have great interpersonal and communication skills especially with customer service
- Experience of at least one year as an Accountant/Accounts Clerk or Front Desk Clerk/Cashier in hotel/hospitality sector will be an added advantage
- Proficiency in English and Kiswahili, both oral and written
- Excellent hospitality/customer service skills and ability to work well with other hotel staff
- In case of emergencies, he/she should be able to take decisions independently as well as should be able to prioritize his/her work requirements according to the situation.
